Time to quilt again

Time to quilt again

Yeehar….. I’m excited. I have a plan in motion and my next quilting project sorted.

I might have mentioned during November madness month that I had received the wonderful Elizabeth Hartman’s book – The practical guide to patchwork. Well I have finally picked the pattern I am going to do and I have (most) of the fabric to do it and a weekend at home by myself with no one to annoy me so I can cut, iron and sew to my heart’s content.

I’m excited. Did I mention my excitement at getting back to quilting again? đŸ™‚ So what am I making you ask? Well thank you for asking, I am making the Rain or Shine quilt. Perhaps a little ambitious for me, but I really wanted to do something that had more shape in it, not all rectangles and squares. I’m deathly afraid of circles, so the little yo-yo type circles will be a big deal for me, as will the whole kite and triangle shapes. But I’m positive I can do this. Oh yes, the excitement is still there.

And then, in case I get bored with doing the Rain or Shine quilt, then I have a gazillion little hexies to cut out for my sister and I.

And yes, finally I have some Christmas decorations up. Not a lot, because we are only renting the house we live in so I can’t go wild hanging things up, but it’s enough to make it happier and cheerier, which I am really needing at the moment. So here’s a few photos to get you into the Christmas cheer.

wow… I love the quilting pattern, and since I live in fear of circles, I can’t wait to see how you do! And I love the ornaments hanging on the wall… what a clever and cute way to decorate for Christmas!
